Some of our items are not available for home delivery. This is to avoid damage or complications during transit. If a product cannot be delivered, a clear notice will appear on its product page. These items can still be reserved for in-store collection.
Customers within the UK can choose from multiple delivery methods at checkout:
Free Shipping – Spend over £49.00 to qualify for:
Royal Mail Tracked 24 (1–2 working days)
DPD Next Day* (weekdays only)
*Orders over £150 or items heavier than 20kg will generally be shipped via DPD Next Day. This excludes weekends and Bank Holidays.
Royal Mail Tracked 48 – £2.49 (2–3 working days)
Royal Mail Tracked 24 – £2.99 (1–2 working days)
DPD Next Working Day – £4.99 (order by 3pm, Monday–Friday).
Friday shipments arrive the following Monday.
Northern Ireland & Scottish Highlands: delivery takes 2 working days.
DPD Saturday Delivery – £10.99 (order by 3pm Friday for Saturday arrival).
DX Shipping (DOA Cover) – £24.99 (see “Livestock Shipping” section).
Certain smaller aquariums may require a pallet charge (applied automatically at checkout). Larger systems are shipped either palletised or drop-shipped. Please see Larger Item Delivery below.
We strive to keep all prices accurate but reserve the right to cancel or refund if errors occur.
Delivery fees vary by product weight/type and are shown at checkout.
Free Delivery is available on dry goods orders over £49 (exceptions apply for fragile/heavy items like sumps and tanks).
Livestock shipping is always charged separately and includes insulated packaging with heat packs when needed.
Orders placed before 4:00pm (Mon–Fri) are dispatched the same day.
Orders after 4:00pm ship the next working day.
Couriers deliver Monday–Friday (except with Saturday Delivery option).
We generally dispatch orders only when all items are in stock. Partial shipments are available on request for an extra fee.
⚠️ Amendments & Cancellations:
Our dispatch team works quickly! Please call us immediately for order changes. Emails may not be seen in time. Once shipped, unwanted items must be returned at the buyer’s expense.

Kerbside delivery only – drivers cannot assist in unloading.
Delivery times depend on suppliers; extra charges may apply for drop-shipped aquariums.
Additional help may be required for unloading glass aquariums.

Please report any damage or missing items the same day, with photos (required for claims).
Frozen goods are packed to avoid thawing. If items arrive defrosted, contact us the same day with photos.
We achieve ~99% safe coral shipping with our packing methods.
All corals ship on before 1pm delivery unless upgraded.
Someone must be present to sign; otherwise, DOA cover is void.
If DOA occurs:
Email info@oceaninabox.uk within 1 hour of delivery.
Provide a 30-second video showing the DOA in our packaging.
We may ask for coral skeletons or packaging photos for courier claims.
Depending on stock, replacements or store credit (valid 6 months) will be offered. Shipping fees are non-refundable.
30-day return policy (unused items only, with original packaging intact).
Excludes perishables (e.g., live or frozen food).
Proof of purchase required.
Refunds are processed once items are inspected. If approved, funds are returned to your original payment method.
